The first day!
We walked around to Haddef just before 8am to find the scaffolding tower well under way. Keith and Andrew were working on replacing the fascias and gutters at the front of the house, which are so needed. It is the guttering that has caused much of the damp damage in the front room.
I was trying very hard not to notice that they didn't wear hard hats. (Everyone in Kings Church is probably aware of my views on hard hats and scaffolding!)
It didn't rain today. Hooray! If it manages to hold off tomorrow, the back gutters will probably be done too and then the house will be a lot more weather proof. After that the checking of the roof and flashings and the removal of a redundant chimney at the back.
More tomorrow! Sue
